Postgraduate / Vocational Training
The department is accredited for vocational training in anaesthesia by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA). Senior House Officers and Registrars on the training scheme work and train in our department as part of the Northern Regional Training Rotation. Anaesthesia training in Australia and New Zealand takes place over a minimum of 5 years, commencing 2 years after completion of medical school at the earliest. An overview of the ANZCA curriculum can be found here.
