Obstetric Anaesthesia Fellowship (12 months)
Over 50% of clinical time is dedicated to obstetric anaesthesia, including acute obstetrics, elective Caesarian section lists, and anaesthetic obstetric clinics. The fellow will assist in the delivery of our multi-disciplinary obstetric emergency simulation course and will coordinate obstetric anaesthesia teaching sessions for junior trainees.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the fellowship, the fellow will be able to:
- Demonstrate further proficiency in obstetric anaesthesia
- Evaluate an obstetric anaesthesia and analgesia service for a department
- Teach principles of crisis management in obstetric anaesthesia
- Apply the use of neuraxial ultrasound
Responsibilities
- Provide formal labour epidural teaching sessions for junior trainees
- Maintenance of a obstetric anaesthesia logbook to document performance of procedures and follow-up of patients.
- Coordination of obstetric anaesthesia teaching for junior trainees and other staff as required
